Shattered Chessboards
A downloadable game
Three chess pieces (from Western chess, shōgi, and xiangqi) are thrust together into a single amalgamation of a board, under attack by go stones that are placed randomly around them. Their only hope of escape is getting one of them, Laurel Horse, to the last three rows of the board, where it may promote.
A game made in Lex Talionis, a tactical strategy RPG game engine written in Python. Made for the SRPG One-For-All Jam, mainly as an excuse for me to finally figure out how LT works.
All original assets are mine, but there are some Lex Talionis/Fire Emblem assets that I did not yet excise from the build. I will do so, but only once the jam rating period is over, so as not to change the game during the ratings period. Most notably, this includes the title screen asset; please ignore the words "The Lion Throne" on there.
Controls are the default LT controls (unless you customize it in the menu):
- arrow keys move the cursor
- X selects/confirms. Selecting an empty tile brings up the menu
- Z cancels a selection
- C gives more information about whatever you're hovering over
- A jumps to the next unit
- S skips cutscenes
Known issues:
- After the victory cutscene, the game mistakenly continues the map. Consider yourself as having won once you see the cutscene where Laurel Horse promotes.
